This is a super clean hard to find truck! Not a rusty beat up farm truck however it does show normal wear for a 10 year old truck. Used NOT abused. A little backstory...this truck was a new truck trade in at my local Chevy store by a retired man that just underwent knee replacement surgery and couldn't do the stick shift any longer. I bid the truck at what I consider brain dead money when it came in just because it's a rust free 92,000 mile 5.9 6 speed truck! The ONLY performance modification was an Edge tuner, otherwise stock air filter box and exhaust!! I had the truck serviced, detailed and inspected and to me the truck was hazing out of the exhaust more than common which I figured was an injector so I had my 16 year diesel tech do a little investigation and found the #6 and #1 were low on compression??? NO WAY, not a 92,000 mile truck that's not been a "kid truck"! The tech pulled the valve cover and then the head and there was piston damage to those pistons and cylinder walls. By the time the machine shop quoted me the parts and labor I decided to order a complete reman long block assembly from Jimmy down at MotorParts in McKinney TX that specialize in ONLY Cummins diesel engines and they have their own machine shop and engine builders on hand. I spoke with him on the phone and felt 100% confident in his work (look them up on the web, good guys, highly regarded). He blames the EDGE programmer and says unfortunately it's common since 1 and 6 don't have cooling passages all the way around the cylinder and with the EDGE adding fuel it's getting to hot. Anyway $5,000 later I got a new one coming, also ordered a OE cummins oil cooler, sent my injectors to Capital Diesel to be flow tested, new orings and sealing washers, and put on the flow bench for the1 year warranty for the next guy to be valid. Along with that,new filters, dodge injector tubes, and complete Cummins gasket kit for the external bolt on parts. Obviously the EDGE is GONE and the truck runs and drives great with all the power you need! I used it over the weekend to take a classic car to Mecum and averaged 17.8 MPG at 70 with the cruise on and put 328 miles on it and the oil was changed again Monday morning. Truck is ready to go! I've got quite a repair bill tied up in this truck (close to $8,000 with labor)but I wanted to fix it right! AndI feel confident the next guy is getting a good truck. If you're shopping for one of these trucks then you know what you're looking at! I've got all the receipts for the truck and at 91,445 the truck got new Firestone 10 ply TransForce tires and complete brake service. It does have a B&W hitch in the bed and a brake controller and is ready to use. Interior is a 9.5 out of 10, no rips, tears, stains, or smells! And honestly the body has VERY minor scuffs and scratches and straight overall! BUY with confidence!
